Donna B. joined MercyOne Health & Fitness Center because she desired to improve her stability and balance as an individual with Parkinson’s Disease. She was impressed by the staff and the variety or programs offered at the center—including Rock Steady Boxing.
Rock Steady Boxing is a non-contact boxing and fitness program for people living with Parkinson’s disease. The structured class designed to minimize the effects of Parkinson’s disease as well as improve activities of daily living. Sixty–minute classes are led by certified Rock Steady Boxing coaches and incorporates strength training, cardiovascular exercises, and boxing techniques.
Donna B. was excited to participate and feels better due to increased activities and social connections.
“Activities give me hopefulness and help in finding opportunities to improve my life in all areas. The social connections also make me feel very happy,” said Donna.
