Small Group Training for Youth is offered in 2 age groups and is a great opportunity for kids to be physically active outside of school, gain self-confidence, and learn basic principles of exercise and strength training.
Fit Kids is designed for children 8-10 years old or attending grades 3-5. Fit & Strong Kids is designed for children 11-14 years old or attending grades 6-8.
Based on child’s ability, overall group enrollment ability level and in consultation with the parent, trainer can assist in selecting the right group for those that might be on the borderline of the age groups. Trainer may recommend moving up or down to ensure safety and opportunity for growth and success.
Fit Kids – For children in grades 3 – 5
Day: Wednesdays Time: 4:30-5:15pm Cost: $49 Date: November 3 – December 1 (no class on November 24)
Focusing on safety, and using a fun approach, a certified personal trainer will teach participants how to perform basic exercise movements.
Learn basic movements such as jumping jacks, crunches, pushups, squats
Introduce plyometric training: body weight jumping exercises
The focus of this class is functional training, sport-specific training and injury prevention. With the direction of a certified personal trainer, participants will build strength, improve speed and agility.
Learn proper weightlifting techniques with dumbbells and barbells, including squats, lunges, bench press, rows.
Use plyometric training to increase jumping ability, increase power and sprint faster.
Engage in conditioning training with unique equipment such as ropes, rowers, medicine balls and kettlebells.
