Tai Chi for Balance and Fall Prevention

An event every week that begins at 10:30 am on Monday and Wednesday, repeating until May 26, 2021

8-week series

Proven to be a specific fall-risk reduction exercise program, Tai Chi combines leg
strength, flexibility, range of motion, and reflexes with the mindfulness of coordination
and balance.

All fitness levels are welcome. Maximum 12 participants.
Face coverings are required, may be removed while actively exercising and maintaining social distancing.

Date: April 5-May 26
Days: Mondays and Wednesdays
Time: 10:30 – 11:20 a.m.
Location: Mind & Body Studio
Cost: $80 (includes balance testing)
Instructor: Becky Robel

Pre- and post-program balance testing is optional and highly recommended but is not a requirement
to participate in the program.

Pre-assessment: Monday, March 29 at 10:30 a.m.
Post-assessment: Monday, May 31 at 10:30 a.m.

About the Instructor: Becky Robel is the founder, instructor and trainer at Tai Chi Iowa. She
is a Senior Fitness Specialist (SFS), Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and Certified Group Fitness
Instructor (CGFI) through NASM and AFAA. She serves on the Iowa Falls Prevention Coalition Board
and teaches a variety of classes in the Des Moines metro area.
