In 2016, Lucy started her health and fitness journey as a support system for her sister. Both sisters wanted to lose weight and lead a healthier lifestyle. At the time, Lucy could only walk half a block before she was out of breath and in pain.
Lucy challenged herself to walk a little further each day, and two years later, she lost 108 pounds. Lucy couldn’t imagine a day without coming to Mercy Health & Fitness Center. She now limits herself to walking 3 miles a day to give herself time to use the exercise bike and elliptal machine on the fitness floor.
“I can’t stress enough to start this journey SLOW and easy and within time you will be able to do more and more,” said Lucy.
Lucy has recently been taken off of ALL her blood pressure medications, got rid of all of her inhalers, and no longer has sleep apnea! She’s always up for a challenge and will be starting the Next Steps™ fitness program this month to enhance her workouts.
